The Art of Karla

Throughout my career, I’ve had the great fortune to work on some truly inspiring projects, while meeting many influential and creative individuals along the way. I believe in working together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. In terms of my background, I started painting and drawing in high school, with the support of a formative teacher, Virginia Carnes at Westminster. She encouraged me to study figure drawing in New York City in the summer of 1995 which changed my perspective on the industry. Ever since, I worked to develop the skills and confidence that form a style that draws on legacy artists as well as lasting images that stay with me from my travels. Born in Atlanta, I moved to Boston after studying French and International Relations at Emory. After 5 years in Boston working at a language travel Swedish company in Cambridge, I moved to INSEAD and spent seven years between Paris and Singapore before moving back to Boston 10 years ago.

Today, I continue to travel and expand the boundaries of my skills and perspective through art and share these creations with patrons, supporters, and friends who are able to appreciate what I do. 1 Original Art & Prints For Sale

Almost all of the work seen here is for sale; either as an original piece or print. Originals start at $500 and prints at $50 USD.

2 Commision

Part of my favorite type of work is creating art for others and helping to bring to life ideas, memories, moments and translate them into images I connect with that connect to others. Commissions start at $1200 for paintings assuming a size 18" x 24" or larger which is my preference. Sketches can be commissioned starting at $280 at 9 x 12". Large scale pieces up to 10' start at $2000 USD. Payment plans and monthly financing are easy to structure -- most of my art can fit a reasonable budget, and the more I can put out in the world, the happier I am. Do not hesitate to ask!

3 Special Projects

Institutional projects are also a priority especially public murals (walls, playgrounds, highway underpasses, etc.).

4 Collaborations

As I develop my style I am also interested in digital work, photography, blending and hybrid artwork. If interested in a collaborative effort, please email or text me to see if there is a fit.
